Event marketing with a twist

Just a small selection of designers I am looking at for inspiration with this newest brief. I have been asked to create a poster, flyer and web banner promoting International Reggae Day. These poster should be aiming a new audience one who might particularly not like or be interested in Reggae music.

I am going to be using these designs to influence and draw inspiration from. I especially like the penguin covers which have this effective and clever simple design. I also think the designs of Neville Brody are so inspiring and can never be looked at enough times.

Experiments with paper -Typography

These are example of my experimentation with typography in paper. I am really enjoying the freedom of this brief as the only constriction with this brief is the type has to be made from paper.

Although I am finding it difficult to choose or see a typeface I like through this experimentation. I think this may be because of the loose nature in which i'm working, I will continue to develop and am sure that one will stand out.

Editorial Collage

Back to University, and the first project is an editorial design piece. These images show the scanned collages i made to inspire and inform my editorial design.

I definitely found this a helpful and very inspiring task and wish to document this for future reference as this will be a task that will always be helpful.

I also wish to talk about how I would go about this again, which is by maybe finding more body type and from a more extensive range of magazines. As i had one type of magazine the Body text does seem to be very similar, I also would like to experiment more with colour and image by cutting into them and overlaying them in interesting ways.

I definitely need to remember this very effective way to create layouts for my web design
